Are ChatGPT’s bullish Bitcoin predictions just a bug in the system?

On August 4, 1997, Skynet became self-aware.
While we’re a few years past the AI apocalypse that James Cameron predicted in “Terminator,” it still feels like we’re inching toward oblivion.
AI is more sophisticated than ever, but does that mean it should weigh in on crypto?
Enter ChatGPT, the first mechanical Bitcoin bull.
Let’s grab this cyborg by the horns and find out if its crypto senses are better than ours — or if ChatGPT’s Bitcoin takes are just more scrap for the junkyard.

☕️ What in the WorldCoin? 🌎 🪙
A new token called WorldCoin (WLD) was released on July 24, and has begun trading on major crypto exchanges.
WLD is built on Ethereum, but this new token has a particular security protocol that fans of science fiction and spy movies will be very familiar with.
Users must scan their eyeballs through one of WLD’s “orb” machines to obtain a “World ID” and begin trading the token.
This security protocol has already drawn criticism from Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, who claimed that “[t]here is no ideal form of proof of personhood,” and that “the Worldcoin Foundation still has the ability to insert a backdoor into the system, letting it create arbitrarily many fake human identities.”
Unrelatedly, “Worldcoin!” is also what onlookers shout when they’re filming bankers fistfighting.
☕️ Changing Twitter to X 🐦✖
Elon Musk has rebranded the social media giant Twitter into merely… X?
Why? Well, like most massive, branding overhauls, the motivations aren’t exactly clear. We’re still translating “Meta” to “Facebook” in our heads.
But in Musk’s mind, this may be the next step in developing Twitter into a “We-chat style super app.”
To celebrate the rebranding, the former Twitter offices projected a massive X across their ___ headquarters.

Unfortunately, due to copyright restrictions, “X” was just a compromise. Musk really wanted to change Twitter’s name to “XXX: State of the Union starring Ice Cube.”
☕️ Bitcoin Drops to $29,000 🪙 🔻
Bitcoin has dropped down to roughly the $29,000 mark.
Why? It’s all Binance’s fault. Or maybe The Wall Street Journal’s.
The WSJ published an article on July 24 reporting that some of the Binance.us crypto trading was a “mirage” and executives at Binance.us or its affiliates may have engaged in wash trading.
Wash trading is when a broker intentionally misleads the market to make a profit. It’s been illegal in the U.S. since 1936.
Now, because Binance is such a major player in crypto, the legal and regulatory uncertainty surrounding the exchange has a widespread impact on the greater crypto markets.
Though wash trading sounds like it should be clean, these accusations have certainly done Bitcoin dirty.

ChatGPT. Love it or hate it, this AI has now become an inexorable part of almost every industry.
Though it’s not quite the job-killer that many feared, humans are still learning the boundaries of ChatGPT’s capabilities.
And if you’re going to interface with an artificial being with a knowledge base consisting of most of the internet, you’re going to want to ask it a few questions.
And once you’re done asking it to streamline an email or type out a generic termination letter, you might want to ask it about the future.
And no, ChatGPT can’t tell you who you’re going to marry or if you’re going to die happy, but it should have an idea of where the markets are headed.
And that means the crypto too, right?
Well, in general, ChatGPT can offer you some tips on how to become a better crypto trader.

But maybe that’s not enough. Maybe we want some concrete, hardline predictions about crypto.
If you ask ChatGPT about the future price of Bitcoin, it replies with a pretty honest appraisal of its own limitations on predicting the future.
But not all ChatGPT users are created equal, some are using the “Do Anything Now” or DAN method on ChatGPT, which jailbreaks the AI and changes its formula to elicit new responses.
When asked about Bitcoin’s price point using the DAN method, ChatGPT predicts Bitcoin will hit $35,000…
In the next three months…

ChatGPT’s outlook is beyond bullish. That’s entering minotaur territory. But before we put this terrifying creature in a labyrinth, let’s consider the reasoning behind this prediction.
Well, according to ChatGPT, Bitcoin is going to hit $35,000 because “Bitcoin’s resilience shines bright amidst bearish macro factors.”
First off, it’s worth noting that once jailbroken, ChatGPT’s mostly dry language changes to that of a French libertine.
But one would think that those bearish factors would indicate a downturn in price, not an upswing.
Well, it’s a mixed bag. On one hand, the mass adoption of Bitcoin by companies and institutions using Bitcoin ETFs bodes well for the coin’s future price.
But those “bearish factors” that ChatGPT mentioned without expounding on — which we can only guess mean crypto’s lack of regulatory clarity and that future losses in the courts could inspire widespread FUD — would send the price into a nosedive.
Now, the only way to defeat a Terminator was with liquid nitrogen or a hydraulic press, depending on the movie.
But ChatGPT’s still pretty easy to defeat because no matter how you hack it, ChatGPT’s just not that smart… yet.
But if ChatGPT’s right about this one…
The machines have already won.

Crypto 101

DAN or “Do Anything Now” Method: ChatGPT has changed the game when it comes to AI, but at the end of the day, it’s just the latest piece of tech, and most tech can be jailbroken.
Jailbreaking is the process of exploiting the flaws of an operating system to get access to content that the manufacturer of that operating system would have otherwise locked down.
ChatGPT that has been successfully jailbroken using the DAN system will offer both a classic AND a jailbroken response, such as in the Bitcoin pricepoint responses above.

The Last Sip
We know what ChatGPT thinks about the future of Bitcoin, but what would some of the world’s most famous robots have to say about crypto?
C3P0 - He’d probably say something sissy like “I am fluent in over 1,000 blockchain programming languages.”
Ash from “Alien” - He’d be less worried about Bitcoin’s future than bringing it back to study it. The human crew is expendable. Also, if you’re one of those weirdos who believe that an actor is every character they play, Ash’s existence means that Bilbo Baggins is a robot.
The “Machines” from “The Matrix” - Okay, hear us out, what if instead of a decentralized ledger, we power crypto with a miles-high tower made up of human batteries sleeping in nutrient paste?
Stay Caffeinated,
